Longstock Neighbourhood Plan
Community Involvement
Community participation is at the heart of any Neighbourhood Plan.
A crucial part of the process is to be able to demonstrate to the examiner that the community has been involved at all stages of the process, whether by direct involvement, through open events, or through consultation by questionnaires, surveys etc.
Information sharing through updates in newsletters etc is also part of the process.
Test Valley Borough Council officially approved the designation of the entire parish of Longstock for a Neighbourhood Plan on 22nd August 2019.
The Steering Group (made up of members of Longstock community) hit the ground running and immediately started organising community engagement and events, in order to raise awareness of the Neighbourhood Plan and to gain information from the community about what people wanted their village to look and feel like in years to come. Unfortunately, the first 2 community engagement events had to be cancelled last-minute, due to Covid restrictions, but on the 7th December 2021, we finally had the opportunity to speak to people face-to-face and show what work has been done so far towards the Neighbourhood Plan.
